Emergency
Medical Services
The Emergency Medical Services Department of Hamilton Hospital
provides Advanced Life Support for Webster City and
surrounding areas with Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians.
The department is staffed 24-hours a day with two on-duty
crew members and two crew members on call. The shift is 12-hours
of duty and 12-hours of call. Along with responding to emergencies,
we also transfer ill and injured patients to higher level
care facilities, provide support staff for the emergency room,
support local and area first aid and EMS training efforts,
help educate preventive life styles for safer and healthier
lives, work with local and area fire and law enforcement agencies
during emergency calls and help within the hospital with patient
transport to and from ancillary departments.
Our staff is highly trained in Basic Life Support, Advanced
Life Support, Advanced Medical Assessment, Trauma Life Support
and Cardiac Care.
State-of-the-art equipment is another department asset. Our
ambulances are late model units that are ready to respond
at a moments notice. We've also implemented Multi-Lead Cardiac
Monitors and Capnometry for monitoring the amount of CO2 within
a patient's blood stream.
The Emergency Medical Services Department is licensed with
the Iowa Department of Health and the Bureau of Emergency
Medical Services as a Paramedic Level Service.
