Nursing

Hamilton Hospital's Nursing Department has two divisions - the Medical/Surgical Department, and the Special Care Unit. The Medical/Surgical department is staffed with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. The staff provides individualized care for patients of all ages. The Special Care Unit is a four-bed unit designed to care for patients who need intensive care, such as those who have suffered heart attacks or strokes. It is staffed with Registered Nurses who have had special training in coronary care.
