Radiology
At Hamilton Hospital's Radiology Department, we offer most of the same services that the larger hospitals do, but with the friendliness and personal attention
that you find in a small community. We are committed to providing excellent care and customer service for each and every patient.
The equipment used in Radiology at Hamilton Hospital is state of the art and includes a 16 slice Philips CT scanner for all routine and emergency imaging.
Staying abreast of the changing technology is important to us. In addition to upgrading our x-ray equipment as needed, we have also converted to a mostly
“digital” department through the use of computed radiography and a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). This digital technology allows
us to send most studies to an off site radiologist 24-hours a day for interpretation.
The Radiology Department is covered around the clock through a combination of staffed hours and technologists “on-call”. All of the radiologic
technologists are ARRT registered and have permits to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health. We have two certified mammography technologists on staff.
Screening mammograms do not require a physicians order, while all other exams will require referral from your physician.
Services Offered:
- CT (Cat Scans), Mammography, Ultrasound and Echocardiography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, and general x-ray.
- Nuclear Medicine, MRI and some Ultrasound services are offered through mobile services.
- A board certified radiologist is on site to perform scheduled procedures, typically Monday through Friday each week.
- A radiologist is also available 24-hours a day, 7-days per week to view images for both routine and emergency cases through teleradiology services.
- Computer Aided Detection technology for mammograms and chest x-rays exams.
