Description:
|
PRN - Casual position. Day, Evening or Night Shifts available. Provides advanced emergency care in pre-hospital setting, including the evaluation, treatment, and transport of injured and/or ill adult, pediatric and newborn patients in accordance with standard operating procedures. In hospital setting, assists Registered Nurse in providing care to adult and pediatric patients. Under direction of Registerd Nurse, assists with tasks and procedures not specifically denied by Nursing policy or State of Iowa EMS Advanced Care Law/Adminstrative Rules, applicable to EMT-B's, I's and paramedics. |

Experience Required:
|
Completion of an approved EMT B, I or Paramedic program. Certified to practice in the State of Iowa. Possession of current State of Iowa drivers and chauffeurs license. Acceptable driving record. BLS recertification biennially. Certification in basic PHTLS or BTLS preferred. Hospital based ambulance service experience preferred. |

Entry level Emergency Medical Technician - $10.17 per hour and Paramedic - $12.93 per hour with no experience. Wage credits based on experience and union contract. Second shift differential of $1.00 per hour and third shift differential of $1.50 per hour. |

Degree from an accredited Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technician program required.
ASCP registered. Hospital MICROBIOLOGY experience preferred. Driver's license preferred. Maintenance of current basic life support. |
